Are you using your networking time properly?

Nowadays, in order to create a buzz about our business we need to tell as many people as possible and as passionately and enthusiastic as possible.  It is important to create a relationship with people who will help you move your business to the next level or who will buy from you.  Remember, people buy from people they like and trust.  The best way to establish this rapport is through face-to-face interaction.  Networking is becoming the wave of marketing and is also the more affordable and easy way of telling people what you do.  Advertising can be expensive especially if the content is ineffective.  Believe me, I've spent a load of money on advertisting that didn't work.  But I learned.  For under $50, I can tell 10-20 people what I do and establish rapport with them in less than an hour of my time. 

Also, it is important to realize that the results may not be instantaneous.  Months down the line you may get a call from someone told them about you because they met you at this networking event back in December.  If you go to 10 networking events a month and you talk to 10 people, that is 100 new people who may be out in the world talking about you and your business, hopefully.  So take the time to get to know people, connect with them, build relationships and create a buzz about what you do in the world.
